Royal Mail House was built in 1840 by George Radley, as a hotel it would have welcomed the first class passengers of the infamous Titanic and other Ocean Liners before they set sail for the new world. In its colourful history it became the offices of the Royal Mail Shipping Company which became the largest shipping company in the world when it took over White Star Lines in 1927 it then merged with Cunard in the 1930's.
